Is TransitFiles really 100% free with no file size limits?
Yes! Because files stream directly between devices via WebRTC without storing data on expensive cloud servers, there are zero server storage costs for us and zero fees or file size caps for you.
Are my files stored on any cloud server?
Never. Files stream memory-to-memory between sender and receiver. No central server ever sees, holds, or logs your file data.
Can I transfer files between iPhone, Android, and PC/Mac?
Yes! TransitFiles works in any modern web browser across iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS without installing any software.
Do both devices need to stay online during transfer?
Yes. Since the transmission is direct peer-to-peer, the sender must keep the tab open until the receiver finishes downloading the file.
How fast is the transfer?
If both devices are on the same local Wi-Fi or LAN, transfer speeds will reach high local network speeds (often 50MB/s to 100MB/s+). Over the internet, it runs at the maximum upload speed of the sender and download speed of the receiver.
